Portable Job / Portable Careers
Portable businesses produce little profit but as long as you have the Internet, you can have clients anywhere with a portable job or portable career ,my advice? is to use the Internet to earn a living with your skills for instance with languages you can create a language-translation business.
Here are some ways to make money on the web:
Web Creating and Managing:
Creating and running websites is not for everyone, but getting started as a website publisher is no longer as big a task as it once was thanks largely to blogging specially if you are gifted or have the experience, skills or knowledge in a niche field.
I run a couple of websites. These sites generate income from text ads and affiliate marketing (whereby you promote the goods and services of companies in return for commission).
International Development Consultant
You can improve the lives and communities through virtual projects, as your work would be to seek to reduce the proportion of people living below the poverty threshold.
Executive-coaching business for expatriates:
Executive coaching has increasingly shifted away from fixing problem managers to helping corporate stars achieve peak performance. In the process, coaching has become, by one estimate, a $1 billion business!
Resume Writer | Social Media Manager| Facilitator, Trainer
Social Media Manager:
Want to manage Britney Spears’ online persona? She’s on YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other sites, and somebody (not her of course) has to do all the hard work of posting and responding to content.
That’s where you come in. If you went to Harvard, that is. Brandcasting Unlimited, Britney’s online manager, once posted the job listing below for “Britney Spears 2.0 Media Manager” on its Harvard-only private job board. Among the not-so-tough job requirements: you must be “addicted to social networks such as MySpace and Facebook.”
you can be anywhere as is a very portable job.
Facilitator, Trainer:
If you don't know search the Web for some online teaching courses. I found on suite 101 "The Virtual University Gazette's Guide to Programs that Teach Instructors How to Teach Online" that lists online workshops, courses and degree programs offered by various schools and organizations. Go to http://www.geteducated.com/articles/teac... The Virtual University Gazette is a free e-mail newsletter published by geteducated.com. Back issues and subscription information can be found at http://www.geteducated.com/.
Photography and Art: The Internet has also opened up opportunities for the visually creative type as well. If you watch 'Charlies Angels", Lisa Lu is an an artist born in New York who painted landscapes and successfully found and sold two markets for her work in Paris. Not only does she sell her pictures online, she also sells them other travelers and locals. She creates and uploads digital pictures of her work to her laptop and then transfers them to an online store.
Writing and Publishing: The Internet has not only enabled a writer to work from anywhere but it has also presented itself as another platform for getting work published.
In order to be a successful writer you need to bring something different to the publishing table. Search out a unique angle and find a niche area. Like any new business, you need to see what gaps exist and attempt to exploit them.
A quick and easy way to get your work out there is by selling on an online auction site such as eBay. With no technical knowledge you can quickly get your work in front of an interested audience.
Travel photography is another field of work that can be made into a business pretty much anywhere. There are many photo stock websites that will display and sell your work.
Finance and Money: I know of one guy who is a day trader. He previously worked for an investment bank as a trader and decided he wanted a change of lifestyle and a move away from the pressure of the trading floor. With a laptop and a good Internet connection he can pretty much trade stocks from anywhere. His choice was Thailand.
Another popular job for portable careers is to play poker online. Gambling carries huge financial risks, but some people out there in some remote corner of the planet play the game and win. I wouldn’t recommend it as a long-term venture unless you really know what you are doing and you can afford to lose what you stake. The same advice goes for trading stocks.
Freelancing: There are many others freelance type jobs that can be conducted remotely via the Internet. Some examples include computer programming, bookkeeping, personal assistant and administration work, copywriting, and designing.
The list is endless. Think of all the work that is being taken offshore now. The Internet has enabled much of this to happen, and there is no reason why you cannot place yourself offshore.

Affiliate Marketing On The Internet
Affiliate Marketing is a performance based sales technique used by companies to expand their reach into the internet at low costs. This commission based program allows affiliate marketers to place ads on their websites or other advertising efforts such as email distribution in exchange for payment of a small commission when a sale results.
