How does a business idea turn into "reality" (1)

To begin with, make sure that the business idea is something that you truly enjoy. Entrepreneurship can be an extremely difficult task and business owners are often required to work insanely long hours just to get their business off of the ground and it would be unpleasant doing something you don't enjoy.

Secondly, the process by which an idea for a business is brought to fruition and becomes a real business is often a lengthy one. The person with the idea needs to come up with a formal business plan, raise the necessary capital required to start the business, choose a business structure, hire employees, file paperwork with the local government, implement a record-keeping system, select an accounting method, and implement the actual details of the business itself.

Third, sit down and crunch the numbers to make sure that your business idea is profitable enough to make it worthwhile. No one wants to work 80-hour work weeks for a year in realizing their business idea only to find that in practice that business earns them a paltry amount of money. Lastly or fourth, only try to turn your business idea into a realized business if you're willing to assume the risk of failure. The majority of newly founded businesses fail, which is something you'll need to keep in mind as a risk when starting your own business*.

These are other following practical steps, which will help you keep turning your big idea or dream into a reality:

- Do your research. Find out if there’s a need for your service or product.
- Study the competition. Make sure your business will work well against your competitors.
- Make a business plan and start immediately. Don’t take too long with a business plan, because it can also prevent you from actually starting your business.
- Distribute your brand and business. Find the best ways to let people know you are out there. Online marketing is cheaper than other forms of marketing, but you need to use the right channels for your business, because if no one knows about it, how are you going to sell your services or products?

Dreams and ideas are bound by no limits, but you have to apply some common sense to all your projects as well. Finding a balance between the two is the true key to business success.

While I wouldn’t recommend starting an online business for everyone, for many people it’s one of the best ways to generate income without a job. It has certainly worked disgustingly well for me.
