Why start a membership site?

A membership site* is a website were people sign up as members to receive exclusive information in a niche market. People join for a selective period of time to enjoy the features and functions that only can be found at the site.
The special content which can be found only at the site which are niche market specific. These include tutorials, webinars,Audio and video clips, PLR books, live coaching sessions etc.

With membership sites you can make a monthly residual income, passive cash flow. And of course by passive I mean you build it once and you keep making money over and over again, month-after-month. Predictable and stable sources of income, that of course compared to oh if anybody out there’s tried selling ebooks. Or gosh if you’ve ever done AdSense in the past you’d know how that income can me up and down, up and down.

This is very, very predictable source of income. Very high customer value, and this is a biggy right here. I mean this is the one that I really like. It’s probably my favorite one of all. The fact that you only need a few members to make a lot of money. The fact that if you can find just 500 people to give you $20 a month that’s a 5 figure monthly income.

Now I don’t know if you realized that before you read that title on this post. But it’s kind of a groundbreaking concept. And I don’t think a lot of people have actually done the math to realize how much money you can make with so few customers.
It can be 100% outsourced and that is so vital. I’ll show you later on in this training exactly how we do that.

Membership sites are quick and easy to create especially when compared to large-scale products such as even simple ebooks but certainly compared to multi-media products and things like that. Membership sites can literally be created over the course of a weekend. And I’ll show you exactly how to create a membership website in the future post. You don’t need to be the expert or the face of the business. I’m going to write a post about the difference between being an author and a publisher. Membership sites allow you to be a publisher so you don’t have worry about being the expert.

Also, and again, this is another one of my favorite aspects: Membership sites are very, very, very sellable. When it comes to selling a business, one of the things that buyers want to see is cash flow, how much money is that business bringing in?
If it’s just a products business they’re probably not very interested. But if they know, hey over the last two years this site’s generated between $10,000 and $30,000, now that’s a site that they’re willing to buy.

But there is one downside to the membership site model that we need to address. And that is, not all markets lend themselves to our kind of membership model.
In the second part I’ll go over Winning Membership Website opportunities.

While I wouldn’t recommend starting an online business for everyone, for many people it’s one of the best ways to generate income without a job. It has certainly worked disgustingly well for me.
