The Subscription Website Business Model -part 1

The subscription website business is now a massive multi-million pound industry. And it is growing at a phenomenal rate.

Over the next few years the number of Subscription based Websites is likely to increase dramatically, as more and more people enter this exciting new marketplace.

In order to ensure YOU are one of those who benefits from this exciting new phenomenon, you first need to understand exactly what a Subscription Website is, and why this marketplace has evolved.


The Main Types of Subscription Website

First of all, you should realise that the industry actually comprises of two main kinds of Subscription Website:

(1)The Content based’ Subscription Website and (2)the ‘Service based’ Subscription Website. The main difference between the two is, a content based Subscription site mainly provides ‘Information’ and ‘Resources’ about a particular Topic/Subject area. Whereas a ‘Service based’ Subscription site provides access to a ‘software tool’ or other utility, which runs ‘live’ online, but can only usually be accessed via a password protected control panel.

The ‘hinenimedia.memberlodge.org’ site is a Content Based Subscription Website.

The ‘hinenipress’ site is a Service based Subscription Website (known as an ‘Application Service’).
