Why Membership or Subscriptions websites are a great choice as Online Business

If you're a writer, researcher, subject matter expert, enthusiastic hobbyist, or an authority on almost any topic, there has never been a better time to start your own subscription website or online newsletter.

Smart website owners are now realizing just how valuable their hard-earned knowledge is to others. Much of the information that used to be available for free to anyone and everyone on the World Wide Web is moving behind closed doors, accessible only to paying subscribers.

Reasons why Membership website are here to stay!

As the publisher of a Membership website, you have an almost unfair advantage over other print publications that don't operate on the Internet. Consider the benefits:

Low cost of entry -- a computer, minimal software and Internet access are all you need.
No or low rent -- work from home.
Low overhead -- production and distribution costs are close to zero.
No employees -- do it all yourself.
Operate from anywhere in the world.
Access a worldwide audience.
Reach a well educated, affluent market.
Offer a visually rich website, with text, images, audio or video.
Sell and deliver digital information products instantly.
Build loyal communities through discussion groups, online events.

OTHER KEY FACTORS

MONEY

Money is the single most important factor in online business sphere.

CONSISTENTCY

Membership fees are the most reliable index of the success or failure of a game. Online business are a business and businesses abhor change. They do not want, they need, to have all the possible variables for the past, present, and future mapped out in order to shape their own business strategy.

Businesses require a steady flow of income to be successful, and Membership or subscriptions sites fill that need.

Top Subscription-based Models ideas & opportunities to twist

Top Subscription-based Models ideas & opportunities to twist

The subscription business model is a business model where a customer must pay a subscription price to have access to the product/service. The model was pioneered by magazines and newspapers, but is now used by many businesses and websites.

Here a couple of ideas

1. Luxury women's panties by curated subscription

Panty by Post is a Canadian venture that offers a selection of women's underwear by monthly subscription. Customers can order panties individually, or they can sign up for subscriptions lasting two, three, six or 12 months. A different panty is then sent every month, each wrapped in an attractive mailing package. It's a great example of subscription-based retail, offering curation alongside convenience. One to apply to a category you're passionate about.

2. Books by gift subscription, hand-picked for the reader
The march of the subscription models continues! We've already seen a wide variety of products offered by subscription over the past year or so, however, Just the Right Book adds a slightly different twist by adding hand-picked customization. This is where smaller retailers have a chance to shine and to set themselves apart from the (online) behemoths.

4. UK-based Bonbon sells a wide variety of attractively packaged lip balms made using only natural ingredients such as shea butter and plant oils; where possible, it chooses organic and fair-trade ingredients. What's particularly interesting about the company, however, is that rather than sell its 3.5g lip balms individually online or through brick-and-mortar stores, it has chosen to offer them up by monthly subscription only.

5.New York-based TOTA's subscription service is essentially a card-of-the-month program whereby subscribers get two copies of a one-time, handmade card sent to their door each month. Photos of each new letterpressed design are posted on TOTA's website on the first of the month along with a description of what inspired it; August's, for example, is based on an Asanoha pattern. The handmade cards are all standard sizes that can be used for any occasion with no extra postage required. Prices range from USD 13 for a trial subscription of one month to USD 140 for a 12-month subscription, amounting to 24 cards in all. Domestic shipping is included in the price of the subscription, but international orders cost an extra USD 2 per month.

Le Dolci delivers sustainably baked goods once a week to busy Londeners. The bakery uses seasonal, organic, free-range and fair-trade ingredients whenever possible in the creation of its biscotti, scones, brownies, pies, Sicilian treats and more. Members of the club get a bundle of home-baked goodness delivered to their doorstep each Friday; it's a different assortment each week, but members can tell Le Dolci of any dislikes so as to avoid disappointments. Three subscription levels are available: Mini, with four to six servings each week for GBP 14 plus delivery; Mezza Luna, with seven to 10 servings for GBP 20 plus delivery; and Grande, with 11 to 15 servings for GBP 30 plus delivery.

Launching a niche content Newsletters/Blogs/Web sites (I)

HOW TO LAUNCH A NICHE CONTENT NEWSLETTER, BLOG OR WEBSITE

Launching an niche content business intimidates too many business owners who expect the experience to be too complicated, too technical, too time-consuming or too expensive. Creating a Niche content venture can be easy, fast and economical (even cheap) if you know a few basic things about the process and understand how to evaluate service providers. The following tips can help you stake your claim on the Internet and build a commercial presence there without giving up a weekend, reading a manual or spending more than you would on a tank of gas.

1 Find a name:

First reassure yourself that launching a Web business is a modular process—you can start with a simple core and add more to it as your needs grow.

Build or get a Web site:
Domain name registrars typically include a customizable Web page with every name registered.

Set up a mailbox:
Your domain name is essentially your business' address on the Web. For the same reasons you set up mail service at your business' street address, it makes sense to set up a mailbox at your business' Web address.

Next Steps

1. Identify Hot Topics.
Identify 10-20 issues/ topics from business trends + your experience that will be on consumers minds for the next 2-3 years or beyond. Good SEO can drive search traffic. This is very, very important. Minisites are not blogs, so they will not have regular readers. However, see below about adding forums.

2. Take Your Pick.
Pick the 5 or 10 topics that interest you the most and set up a mini-site for each. Usually, people focus in a single niche that interests them, and build sites for sub-niches. E.g., health is an umbrella niche and a particular set of diseases might be the topic sub-niches for which you’d set up individual sites. Note that no matter how many hot topics you stumble across, it’s best to focus on a few, build up the sites, and then later consider expanding.

1.Register domains for each, or if they’re related topics (say health), get one good domain and use subdomains.

2.For each topic, produce a list of 10-20 questions that searching visitors might have. Read newspapers and biz magazines as surrounding these topics will help, as will FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) sites. For business, health and other topics, Canadian public and government often has this sort of content online.

3.Write or buy articles – one article per question. Don’t use too many outbound links to other sites but do have maybe a page of references for each minisite. Make sure that if you’re covering sensitive topics that you offer well-researched, accurate content and that you publish a disclaimer, for your own protection. It’s better to put in the time/money now, to build each site up as an authority, if you want long-term results. Crap content for the sake of making money isn’t going to fly for long.

4.Publish the articles on your sites. Some blog platforms such as WordPress are versatile enough to act as a general CMS (Content Management System).
5.Decide how you want to monetize the minisites. You have several choices:
1.Ads – CPC (Cost Per Click – paid per click).
2.Ads – CPM (Cost Per Mille – paid per thousand pageviews).
3.Affiliate programs (typically the same as CPA ads or Cost Per Action)
4.Other content (e-books, newsletters, DVDs)
5.Services.

What you use depends on the nature of the topic and what you have available to you, or what services you can offer.

3. Adding Forums.
Optional: If something is a hot topic and you have the traffic to support it, consider adding a forum for each minisite. Either that or a way for vistors to post or answer questions. If the subject is sensitive, allow for some anonymity.

4. Maintenance.
Maintain the sites by occasionally adding new articles. The frequency is up to you, and might be determined by how well the site is monetizing.

5. Send Web Traffic.
Now drive traffic to each site, either from other blogs you write, purchased traffic (e.g., Google AdWords), or suitable social media sites.

You’ll notice I didn’t say “blog”. Mini-sites take less work to maintain, though they do take much longer to build up traffic, unless you’re proactive about it. So they don’t necessarily monetize “immediately”. Some may take six months to a year, but on a long-term basis, if you’ve selected a niche that enjoys a lot of search traffic, you might start making $200+/mth long-term.

To speed up the process – though not guaranteed – you might add a blog to supplement each minisite, but that is a lot of work/cost to maintain. Instead, if you’re setting up 5 or 10 sites in the same umbrella niche, then you can have a single active blog drive traffic to all of them. I’ll expand further in part II.

Auto Pilot Riches with Niche Websites

Pondering starting an niche website and how to make money, get the most from the marketing & advertising campaign?.... It's not necessarily as hard as you may presume.

As a matter of fact, it may be one of the simplest methods for getting your foot inside the proverbial "online money machine" doorway .

Things you can do:

•You can make money with Google adsense. Google Adsense is an amazing contextual advertising program that lets you earn revenue from your site by a variety of revenue generating programs without any selling on your part. You just need a website or free blog and Google does the rest

Google uses pay per click ads, Adsense for search, referrals for Firefox with Google toolbar, Picassa, Google Pack and the adsense program itself to generate revenue for you and, of course, for Google.

There is definitely good money that can be made if you follow all the rules exactly that are given in the adsense policies. Play by their rules and you will make money.

Get latest version of wordpress on your site. Just upload the entire wordpress in root. Now we need to generate some content. Remember this is an Auto Pilot way which means you need not update the site manually. You can use wp-o-matic which is free of cost or something like rss2blog to keep your blog updated automatically everyday

Create a videos section. I would recommend you to go for something like http://videoscript.us/. This script will cost you $97 but do wonders as you will be able to use it on multiple sites. For those who cannot afford the script, they can choose to upload another instance of wordpress in a folder called "videos" and embed youtube videos in it. Adding 10 Videos a week can work pretty good. If you are using any script, just make sure that you remove the search option.

Display eBay ads. I have explained on how to do this in a post You may follow it to get relevant eBay ads for your site. For those who want to invest money can go for something like BANS of PHPBAY. If you are using BANS (most recommended) just ensure that you upload it in a new folder called "store" or something similar of your choice. Similarly links, widgets and banners for any other affiliate programs like Amazon, ClickBank or CJ can be used.

So this way your website ready which is self updated with the display of rss articles on blog, dynamic videos and dynamic eBay ads. Your website will be 100% dynamic and will keep on changing which will attract lot of SERPS. Of course, you need to make it popular by using back links, forums, etc. More popularity = More Traffic= More Money!!!

Niche content Websites articles dedicated to teaching others how to make money online using feeder sites and mini niche sites .
